Making music fun in east anglia

It is with great sadness that we mark the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Martlesham Brass has always held her in great esteem and we will miss her dedication and constant care for us.
We have followed her example of making our organisation open and welcoming to all.

We look to the future when we can celebrate her life and that of our new sovereign, King Charles III.

Christmas Carolling

Hurrah, and ho-ho-ho, the season is upon us!

We have an action-packed line-up for carolling this year. The charities that we will be supporting are:
- St Elizabeth Hospice
- Suffolk School for Parents
- Restricted Growth Association
with 25% of monies collected going to each of the charities.

Collectors

As well as having people out playing, we require people to help to collect â" please see Joy Porter on a Friday night, as she has a list of available slots.

Players

The Main band have 9 jobs (Sundays are split into 2), and Inters have 3 jobs. You will be receiving ticklists, and we urge you to return them to us by the 27th of November. This will help us to ensure that all carolling events are covered.

Please note that during our carolling engagements, under 16's should be accompanied by an adult who could either collect or do some shopping (if at a supermarket) as carolling can sometimes finish early.

Furthermore, all players are welcome to attend any of the carolling jobs, not just the ones allocated to their band!

Christmas Concert

All bands are playing at our Christmas Concert on the 12th of December at Kesgrave Community Centre from 7pm. Raffle prizes are also welcome!
Tickets are £2.50 (primary school children free). You can get your tickets on a Friday night or by going on our website - www.martleshambrass.co.uk.

Best Dressed Instrument Awards

At the Christmas Concert, well be having a best dressed instrument award, with one player from each band to be awarded a prize on the day.
Please make your instrument as sparkly as possible, but please do not use sellotape as it can damage the lacquer.

To beat the January blues!

Beetle Drive Saturday 16th January 2010 7pm - venue to be confirmed

Uniform

Please would members who are returning their uniform ensure that it is cleaned, as we have had some uniform returned which appears to have been worn and handed straight back.
It does help the band if the returned uniform can be used again, and also reduces the amount of clothing that has to be disposed of.

Please would those members who have placed uniform orders find Simon Chalklen on a Friday evening after 7:45 and before 8:00 to pick up your order.

Martlesham Brass CD

The Martlesham Brass CD is now available to purchase.
They can be bought on Friday nights, or at any of our concerts.
Prices are £5 for 1, or £8 for 2 â" makes a perfect Christmas present!
