Making music fun in east anglia

It is with great sadness that we mark the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Martlesham Brass has always held her in great esteem and we will miss her dedication and constant care for us.
We have followed her example of making our organisation open and welcoming to all.

We look to the future when we can celebrate her life and that of our new sovereign, King Charles III.

Monthly publicity bulletin from Martlesham Brass for April 2006

Martlesham Brass has appointed our new band president, Mr Bill Bell of Martlesham Heath. Bill has been a member of Martlesham Brass for four years and is currently our most senior player at 92 years old. Bill is a cornet player who started with the beginners and has progressed through the preliminary and intermediate bands before recently gaining promotion to the main band. Bill continues to be an inspiration to band members young and old, and Martlesham Brass are delighted that he has accepted the role of Band President in this our 10th Birthday year.

April 23rd sees the band participating in the Scouts Annual St Georges Day Parade; this year we will be joining the Scouts to parade along Felixstowe Sea Front before taking part in a service in the Spa Pavilion.

On April 29th Martlesham Brass will be holding a solo and group competition for band members. The extra practice will help players build self-confidence and stamina, which will prove useful as the band is entering the EABBA Norwich Entertainments Contest on 7th May and then we have the Martlesham Brass Spring Concert at Martlesham Community Centre on 20th May. Telephone 01473 611578 for tickets.

As already mentioned we are celebrating our 10th Birthday this year and celebrations are to include a free outdoor summer concert on Saturday 17th June and a grand 10th Birthday concert on Saturday 30th September. Further details can be found on our band website at www.martleshambrass.co.uk.
