Summer Fayre latest
The BBQ will be ready from 1pm for lunch and it is expected that there will be a massed band performance to open the event at 1.30pm. The afternoon programme will include performances from each band and a performance by Ali the Magician.
Grand Draw tickets - you should soon be receiving your grand draw tickets, please make every effort to sell as many as you can. The 1st prize is £100, 2nd prize is £75, there are many other prizes on offer including vouchers from The Red Lion, Notcutts, Solar Bowl, Colchester Zoo, The Alishan Indian, Admirals Fish and Chips, Beacon Rally Karts, Riverside Theatre, Kingpin to name but a few.
Hamper Raffle - due to last year's success we will be assembling more hampers to raffle this year. Please keep a look out for each bands' list and sign you name next to an item. We would appreciate it if you could bring your hamper items to practice on Friday 11th June.
Family Stalls - If you fancy running your own stall please let Jayne know by emailing [email protected] with your ideas. Derek Moyes has kindly offered to run a stall with good quality items in aid of the band. If you have any donations please see Derek (Intermediate band).
Helpers needed - as ever we will need volunteers to help on the day, please look out for the helpers board in the next few weeks.
Main Band â�" Back Row Cornets
There is currently space in the Main Band for a 2nd and 3rd cornet.
To apply, please speak to your bandleader by the 21th of May. Auditions are likely to take place on the 28th.

Walking Treasure Hunt
Many thanks to everyone who supported this event, we had a lovely afternoon wandering around Martlesham. Thanks to The Howard's for organising.
Uniform
A reminder to all adult members; could you please ensure that you have given the money for your white polo shirt and green sweatshirt to Mary Aldous or through Simon Chalklen. Could I also remind you of the band uniform policy for children, which is that the band provides the first uniform set free, but replacements have to be purchased.

Please note that we are hoping to arrange an Alternative Talents Evening with cheese and wine refreshments on Saturday 16th October 2010. Venue to be arranged.
Planets Night
There is a joint rehearsal for the Main and Intermediate bands on the 21st of May from 8-9:30pm where we will be playing �Mars� and �Jupiter� from the Planets Suite.

Mike Brierley is currently looking for people to help with the beginners group. Please speak to Mike for more details.
