Making music fun in east anglia

It is with great sadness that we mark the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Martlesham Brass has always held her in great esteem and we will miss her dedication and constant care for us.
We have followed her example of making our organisation open and welcoming to all.

We look to the future when we can celebrate her life and that of our new sovereign, King Charles III.

15th Birthday BBQ

Summer is over, and by now you will all be back at school or at work.

But at least the summer ended with a BIG BANG. The Band 15th Birthday BBQ was a voted a huge success by all who were able to attend. Our thanks go to Paul and Liz (for lending us there house and garden), to Sarah for making all of the arrangements, to Chris H for assistance in providing gazeboâs, BBQ and the games (Liz is still finding golf balls I understand). It was really good to see so many new faces and to see everyone having a really good time. Remember, if you enjoyed the BBQ we have a Beetle Drive on the 19th November and we would love to see you all again there. Ticket will be on sale in mid October at £2.50 per head including ânibblesâ

Its nearly Christmas!!!!!!!!!

It may seem like autumn has just crept in, but in no time at all we will be hanging up our stockings and hoping that Santa is as generous as usual. We will be playing carols outside the local supermarkets again this year and we need you to nominate the LOCAL charities who should benefit from all our hard work. If you have a nomination can you please let your bandleader know by the 21st October.

Uniform

It is time to check you uniform to be sure that you have what you need for the coming period. If you have grown or have missing items you can order replacements through Simon Chalklen at Friday practice or use the Uniform book in reception.

Bill Bell

Some not so good news to report. Bill Bell, the band president has had a fall and broken a hip. This has resulted in hospitalization and an operation to insert a replacement joint. Bill has come through the surgery well and is comfortable. We do not have any news on when he is likely to be returning home at present, but in the interim if you would like to pay him a visit Bill is in Somersham ward at Ipswich General. Please phone ahead to be sure that he is able to receive visitors.
