Making music fun in east anglia

It is with great sadness that we mark the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Martlesham Brass has always held her in great esteem and we will miss her dedication and constant care for us.
We have followed her example of making our organisation open and welcoming to all.

We look to the future when we can celebrate her life and that of our new sovereign, King Charles III.

7th September, 2007 - September Newsletter

NEWSLETTER EDITOR REQUIRED

At the end of the month I will be heading off to university, and the band will need the assistance of a willing and enthusiastic (although by no means necessarily a technology genius) volunteer to run the newsletter for it. Essentially the job involves regularly attending monthly committee meetings, collating and occasionally writing articles and putting together the newsletter. If you're interested, you can speak to me (Chris Alexander) or the chairman Simon Chalklen for more information.

Birthday Concert Shirts

The band Birthday Concert is to be held on the 29th of September â" following the committee's announcement about the purchase of new uniform, all band members are asked to wear a smart, white button-up shirt for the concert to accompany the new accessories.

Front Door Assistants

The band is looking for volunteers to "man the door" during Inters practices (but especially between 6.30 and 7.00 and 7.30 and 8.00). These vital people help the bandleaders by providing useful information, newsletters, subs and so on to the players and their parents but due to changing commitments we need a few more people. Please speak to any of your committee members for more information.

Laptop bags for Percussion

The percussion section of the band is looking for some new containers to hold the things that shake, rattle, tinkle, ring, snap, crackle, pop and generally make interesting noises; if anyone has a spare or currently unused laptop bag they would be willing to donate to the band, this would be an ideal method of storing all the noisy extras. Please speak to a percussionist or your Bandleader if you think you can help.
