It is with great sadness that we mark the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Martlesham Brass has always held her in great esteem and we will miss her dedication and constant care for us.
We have followed her example of making our organisation open and welcoming to all.

We look to the future when we can celebrate her life and that of our new sovereign, King Charles III.

AGM â�" Friday 7th March at 7.30pm

All members and parents of players under 18 are welcome to come along to the AGM. Anyone who would like to help on either the main committee or the fundraising committee would be most welcome â�" nomination forms will be available in due course. Representatives will also be needed from each band as player reps on the main committee so if any player is interested please contact their bandleader and speak to the current player rep to find out more about the role. There is more information on the band website about the various committee positions.
There will be cakes!!

Tea and Tunes â�" 1st March 2014

Tea and tunes is an informal get-together of prelim players and their families and friends. Everybody is welcome to join them at St Michael�s church from 10.00- 12.00. This year there will be an Easter themed chocolate tombola stall alongside the usual cake stand. All donations gratefully received please bring along on Friday 28th February.

The band would like to express their thanks to the Roger David Burrows Music Fund who has awarded the band £62 to purchase the Cajon percussion instrument. If you are not sure what a Cajon is look out for Sam playing at the next concert!

Fundraising

We will soon start planning our grand summer fayre, as many of you know this is a major fundraising event for the band and any offers of help or ideas for stalls would be gratefully received, please email Jayne to express your interest/pass on your idea.
Also, you may be aware that Martlesham Brass Band will be 18 years old this September and it would be nice to organise an 18th Birthday party, please email Jayne if you have any ideas for how you would like to celebrate.

Intermediates- third cornet

The Intermediate band has a space for third cornet. If you are interested in the position please speak to the bandleaders.

Garage

Do you have a garage in which band can store the trailer? The band would need to access the trailer each Friday and for other events during the year. If you can help please let the band leaders know.

BBb Bass

Ever fancied playing a BBb Bass, or could your school make use of one? Free to a good home..... Besson "Prototype" 3 valve BBb Bass. Built in 1901, in good playable condition, but needs a polish. Complete with tatty but sound hard case and mouthpiece. If interested contact Mike Brierley.
