Making music fun in east anglia

It is with great sadness that we mark the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Martlesham Brass has always held her in great esteem and we will miss her dedication and constant care for us.
We have followed her example of making our organisation open and welcoming to all.

We look to the future when we can celebrate her life and that of our new sovereign, King Charles III.

Remembrance Services

As with last year, we are performing at three events on the 11th of November.

In the morning, the Intermediates and the Main Band parade down Market Hill and contribute to the Act of Remembrance outside the Shire Hall.
A small group also performs at St Marys Church in Martlesham.

In the afternoon the Main Band will be taking part in the Martlesham Heath Aviation Society Remembrance Service which is held on the Barrack Square in Martlesham (if the weather is awful, like last year, its likely it will be moved to St Michaels Church).

Please make sure you do your very best to attend, and to ensure that you are wearing smart uniform.

Remembrance Parade - 9th of November

Adam Cable is organising a small parade in Kesgrave on Friday the 9th of November to mark the centenary of World War I.
If you are able to take part, please let Adam know.

Christmas Carolling

100% of the money raised during our carolling efforts are donated to three chosen charities. Please nominate charities to your bandleader or player rep over the next couple of weeks.

Band Christmas Card Messages

In a bid raise funds for our charities as well as save paper and time in the run up to Christmas, we will be asking if you would like to send everyone in the band an electronic Christmas message instead of writing many Christmas cards. For example

âDear Band Family â" Happy Christmas to you all, we hope you have a restful Christmas break and look forward to seeing you in the New Year, Love from the Jones Family xxxâ

On Friday 23rd November and every Friday thereafter until the Christmas Concert, there will be a computer ready at band for your messages to be written on. We will be asking for a £1 donation for each message, to go towards our Christmas charities. We will have the computer available each rehearsal until the Christmas Concert on the 15th December, then it will be sent out electronically before Christmas.

NARPO Christmas Concert

The Main Band have been invited to perform at the National Association of Retired Police Officers Christmas Concert, to be held at the Martlesham Police Headquarters on the evening of the 1st of December. Main Band players - please add the date to your diary!

Waitrose Tokens

Thank you to all of you that supported our Waitrose token box. We will find out later this month how much money has been donated to band funds.

Practice arrangements

Throughout September Inters will meet in the Scout Hut and Prelims in the Church.
