Making music fun in east anglia

It is with great sadness that we mark the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Martlesham Brass has always held her in great esteem and we will miss her dedication and constant care for us.
We have followed her example of making our organisation open and welcoming to all.

We look to the future when we can celebrate her life and that of our new sovereign, King Charles III.

Important Note: There is NO band
practice next Friday 19th January 2007

Due to all of the Bandleaders and the Main Band being at the Skegness Mineworkers Contest there will be no practice on that Friday. Good luck to them all playing The Journeymen.
The Big Blow is a fundraising event on the Saturday (20th) in aid of Band Aid which supports African school children. The World Record attempt is to get 2000 people playing the same piece of music. Martlesham Brass Main Band will be taking part so if you want to contribute to this worthy cause give your donation to Adam Cable.
Coffee & Carols was an enjoyable morning of good music and mince pies. This year we need to encourage more people to come!
Woodbridge Street Fayre was a lovely morning where lots of people got to appreciate the Band. Many more got to hear us on Radio Suffolk which was a great performance on our annual dial-a-carol. Thanks to Nick Pandolfi for his help.
The Band Party had a Magician this year which went down really well. If you have any ideas for this yearâs Christmas Party please contact the Fundraising Committee â" Jayne Howlett.
During the carols at the supermarkets we were given £2 to look after a dog and £10 to look after a bike whilst their owners shopped. We could do more of this!

AGM 2007

The AGM will be on Friday 2nd February 2007 at 19:30 after Beginner, Preliminary and Intermediate Band practices. Your Committee needs you! Subs can now be paid by direct debit. If you would like to do this (it is easier to administer) please contact Mary Aldous.
The Band Web Site Editor is Adam Cable. If you would like to help in this area and have good ideas, please contact him.
Wednesday Band is for everyone. If you would like to come along, speak to Mike Brierley. Practice is 19:00 to 20:30 and is a good opportunity to improve.
A number of adult beginners are starting after February half term. If you have always wanted to have a go but not been brave enough â" now is the time. Speak to a Bandleader to get your name on the list â" what have you got to lose.
Martlesham Brass needs percussionists â" kit players are required for all bands. If you are interested or you know someone who is please contact Bruce Eyley.
