It is with great sadness that we mark the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Martlesham Brass has always held her in great esteem and we will miss her dedication and constant care for us.
We have followed her example of making our organisation open and welcoming to all.

We look to the future when we can celebrate her life and that of our new sovereign, King Charles III.

Band 10th Birthday Concert DVD

Attached with the newsletter this month you should find your own copy of the video of the band's 10th Birthday Concert from last year. It includes the performances of all four of the bands, as well as our guests for that day, Tempus Brass. The DVD has been produced by Adam Durrant and Adeline - many thanks to them for producing such a high-quality reminder of the event!

Red Nose Day 07 cake stall

Thanks to everyone who donated and bought cakes, the band raised over £90 for Comic Relief.

Ipswich Town VIP tickets â�" Saturday 14th April

The band have come into possession of two tickets for the Ipswich Town vs. Derby County football match on the 14th April. The tickets include a three course meal before the match in the Galleria restaurant, free programmes, drinks at half time and the opportunity to stay for drinks after the match and to meet some of the players. These tickets would cost approximately £100 each if you were to buy them directly!
We will be auctioning the tickets off on Friday 13th during the band practice. We will accept sealed bids up to 8.00pm on the evening, with the highest bidder winning. If you would like to make a bid look out for the forms and envelopes that will be made available on the 13th in the Church entrance. Happy bidding and good luck! (These were won by Adam and Sarah)

Car Treasure Hunt â�" Saturday 28th April

Don�t forget to hand in your entry forms for this event. It will start at 2.30pm from Martlesham village square car park (next to St Michael�s church).

Alternative talents night - 12th May 2007

This will take place at 7.00pm in The Richards Rooms, next to Martlesham Community Centre. Please see Lisa Hodge for entry forms. Tickets are on sale soon (£2.50 for adults, primary school children free) please bring your own drinks but nibbles will be provided.

Spring concert â�" 19th May 2007

Tickets for our Spring Concert will be available soon â�" look out for them at Band Practices.

Summer Fayre â�" 16th June 2007

The fundraising committee are busy obtaining some fantastic prizes for the grand summer draw â�" the summer fayre will involve all bands performing during the afternoon and the band BBQ social event will take place in the early evening. Please mark this date in your diary for a relaxing afternoon on the village green. (All proceeds made at this event go to band funds).

Quiz night â�" 13th October 2007

We are still waiting for venue confirmation for this event, but note it down in your diaries! We also intend to arrange a delicious Fish and Chip supper too.

Beginners Assistants

The Beginners section is looking for assistants to help out at practices. If you're interested please speak to Mike Brierley.

Auditions

The Main Band have vacancies for 2nd and 3rd cornets, and a soprano. The Intermediates are also looking for a soprano cornet. Please speak to your Bandleader if you're interested in auditioning for any of these positions.

St. Georges Day Parade

The parade is on Sunday 22nd April, starting at 1pm and meeting at the Spa Pavilion, Felixstowe. All from the Inters and Main Band are welcome to come along and play.
