Making music fun in east anglia

It is with great sadness that we mark the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Martlesham Brass has always held her in great esteem and we will miss her dedication and constant care for us.
We have followed her example of making our organisation open and welcoming to all.

We look to the future when we can celebrate her life and that of our new sovereign, King Charles III.

Martlesham Brass Summer Fayre, 16th June.

The time of the year that we all look forward to, and the bandleaders dread, is here again. Yes its the summer fayre. Make sure you plan to come a long to the fayre and dont forget to bring your mum, dad, brother, sister, aunties, uncles, grandma and granddad (after all we want to share in the fun) and a big bag of change.

This ever popular event has everything you need for a great day out; good music, great company, excellent food, fantastic weather and of course another opportunity to make even more friends

We aim to entertain you throughout the day we have a range of stalls including:

BBQ

We have the pleasure to welcome Johns now legendary BBQ, with the tasty burgers and sausages and scrumptious pork rolls. If you have not yet been to a band fayre and sampled these delights, it is a must. An absolute bargain not to be beaten anywhere else.

Cake competition

We have introduced a brand new addition to the exciting summer fayre line up. The Bake and Win competition means everyone, of any age, can show off their cake baking skills to the banding world. The competition will be judged by our band president, Mr Bill Bell. The winner will take home a special prize!

Obviously, when the competition is done the winner and two runners up will be auctioned off to the highest bidders. Then to accompany your burgers and sausages, the cake stall will be opened up for you to purchase the remaining cakes.

Grand draw

With the first prize a choice between VIP tickets to see Ipswich Town play next season or £100 cash, very kindly donated by Actaris, you cannot afford not to have a flutter, and even if youâre not successful, there are a whole host of other exciting prizes to be won such as:

Solar Bowl â" Tea time family special voucher

Douglas Bader - £20 voucher

Beacon Rally Karts â" gift voucher

Colchester Zoo â" 2 child tickets

Kingpin â" 2 games of bowling

Tesco vouchers

Riverside theatre â" two cinema tickets

Black tiles - £25 voucher

Make sure you spread the word and sell as many tickets as possible. A FREE BURGER / HOTDOG or PORK ROLL awaits the person who can sell the most grand draw tickets.

Music

As to be expected, all of our bands will be performing for their audience throughout the day. Our brilliant beginners, profound preliminaries, inspiring intermediates and magical main band will play the highlights of their repertoire.

To accompany all of these well loved stalls we have some exciting additions;

A Bouncy Castle

Inflatable Gladiator Challenge

In true Come and have a go if you think youre tough enough fashion we are very pleased to introduce this inflatable gladiator challenge. Come and joust in pairs to see who is the ultimate winner of winners, champion of champions. This will be half price for band members.

Whats that I hear you say more?!

How does a P-A-R-T-Y sound?

We will be having a party in the evening, with music, fun and games. What better way to wind down after a long afternoon than to come and join in the fun. Either take part in the activities taking place or simply cool down with a burger and beer / wine or fruit based drink for the ladies, and make some new friends. This is a fantastic opportunity for mums and dads to come and meet the people who keep your children entertained every Friday night. EVERYONE is welcome, and this is usually the highlight of the day, missed by many.

Email me: [email protected] to let me know in advance if you would like to stay for the evening, or have any questions about timings etc. If we have enough people step up to the challenge, we will organise a set of games to involve everyone, of all ages. Split into red and blue teams we will really see who the champion of champions is. The stocks will come out and the rounderâs bat will emerge.
