Making music fun in east anglia

It is with great sadness that we mark the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Martlesham Brass has always held her in great esteem and we will miss her dedication and constant care for us.
We have followed her example of making our organisation open and welcoming to all.

We look to the future when we can celebrate her life and that of our new sovereign, King Charles III.

YOUR BAND NEEDS YOU

It is getting close to the time for our AGM which will be held this year on the 9th March at 7:30. This annual event is the time when we elect a committee to run the affairs of the band, and also the people who manage our fundraising and social events. The bandleaders will be presenting the direction that the band will take for the year.

We need volunteers to fill posts and provide some new ideas fund raising and social events. We are not asking for much time, one meeting a month and perhaps as much as two or three hours in the same period to help the band. An application form for committee posts is attached with this newsletter. If you feel that you can help take the band forward we would love to have you join us. For details you can speak to any of the current committee members or your bandleader.

Intermediates vacancy

There are a number of vacancies in the Intermediate band for solo cornets and second cornet. If you would like to be considered for either of these positions, you should speak either to your bandleader or Mark Chalklen by the 24th February. Auditions will be held on the 2nd March.

David Thornton, the principal Euphonium player with the Brighouse and Rastrick Band will be giving a workshop on the afternoon of the 24th March prior to the Main Band concert.
