It is with great sadness that we mark the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Martlesham Brass has always held her in great esteem and we will miss her dedication and constant care for us.
We have followed her example of making our organisation open and welcoming to all.

We look to the future when we can celebrate her life and that of our new sovereign, King Charles III.

Summer Fayre 17 June
Martlesham Brass Band is looking forward to its annual Summer Fayre, which takes place at St Michael�s Church Centre, Martlesham Heath on Saturday 17 June. The afternoon will feature a free concert by all sections of the band. We will also have a Grand Draw and refreshments. All are welcome.

10th Birthday Concert 30th September
June also sees one of our bandleaders, Matt Ellis, leave for New Zealand. We wish him luck and look forward to his return in 2007. Matt is one of the founding members of the band and will be especially missed at our 10th Birthday concert on 30th September. We are hoping to reunite present and past players to celebrate this special event. If you are a past member of the band we would love you to get in touch. Solo and Ensemble Competition
Martlesham Brass recently held a Solo and Ensemble competition. The adjudicator was Adrian Robinson, an Honorary Martlesham Brass player who recently graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music and is now based in Manchester. The solo competition had four sections and the ensembles competed in three sections. We would like to congratulate all who took part, especially the following medal winners:
Beginner: 1st place Alexander Pidd, 2nd place Megan Claxton, 3rd place Isaac Mace
Preliminary: 1st place Jonathan Howard, 2nd place Joe Mace, 3rd place Samantha Bullard
Intermediates: 1st place Chris Beale, 2nd place Claire Hodge, 3rd place Caroline King
Main: 1st place Greg Pocock, 2nd place Lisa Hodge, 3rd place Sarah Lodge
The ensemble medal winners were:
Beginner/preliminary: 1st place Emily Rouse and Catherine Pidd, 2nd place �The Pink Girls�, 3rd place Joe & Isaac Mace.
Intermediate: 1st place �Christian fellowship�, 2nd place Lisa & Claire Hodge, 3rd place �Old Gits�
Main: 1st place �Hell�s Angels�, 2nd place �B Sharp�, 3rd place Adam, Sarah, Emma and Mike.
